The purpose of Sigma Kappa Sorority is to provide women lifelong opportunities and support for social, intellectual and spiritual development by bringing women together to positively impact our communities. Sigma Kappa was founded by Elizabeth Gorham Hoag, Ida Fuller, Frances Mann, Louise Helen Coburn, and Mary Caffrey Low in 1874 at Colby College in Waterville, Maine.  We were founded at the University of Central Missouri on July 11, 1959.
